“…Drallos’ deep knowledge in folk and rock has seeped into her smart and melodic songwriting style, delivered with the angst and honesty of grunge.”

Audio Femme

“Zilched continues to flex on a pair of new singles that ring true with unparalleled alt-rock authenticity and stadium-sized pop sensibilities.”

Alt Citizen

“…threading some substantial earworm vocal melodies with her signature hazy mid-range croon”

MetroTimes

The proper debut of Detroit’s Zilched is the antithesis of all that pageantry and pomp. ‘Blue Doom’ has all the fixings of the ongoing 90s revival, while also adding a healthy smattering of 80s undead goth rock.”

Alt Citizen

“Drallos takes her vocals into a wail, and when the pace kicks back up and she yells into the mic, it feels like a release. ‘Sixteen’ is my new favorite song they are working on getting recorded/released- def to be anticipated!”

Album review: “Doompop” - 8/10

The songs, tones, and rhythms are solid and driving, and Drallos’ deadpan vocals at times bring to mind a Kim Gordon or Courtney Love fronting a Smashing Pumpkins, Jesus And Mary Chain or even Wire.

Music Connection

If ever there was an album title that more accurately described the overall sound of a record, it’s “DOOMPOP”. Downtrodden yet delightful, the latest slab of sonic soliloquies from Detroit’s Zilched is a driving collection of unforgettable Rawk that elegantly eschews norms to forge a new genre built from Alternative, Grunge, and Dream Pop.

“The Detroit garage rock band brought a lot of energy to the stage with their shoegaze melodies and punk rhythm. 21-year-old Chloe Drallos’ cool and lax stage presence combined with honest lyrics about growing pains and loud guitars is reminiscent of the songwriters of the 90s like Liz Phair and PJ Harvey. Drallos evokes a moody-rock- realness about being a woman and the anxieties growing up brings with it.”
